Old maps online and the National Archives
To promote the use of our georeferenced census enumeration district maps,. Spatial Agency has partnered with the well-known distributer of georeferenced historical maps, oldmapsonline.org. We use their Georeferencer™ functionality in our online Historical Census Transcription Mapping Application. The resulting products of the work we perform gets used everyday in family and local history research projects all over the world. Organizations like FamilySearch and Ancestry.com have active partner agreements with Enumeration District maps are used in family and local history research projects and makes the research process more fun and engaging than the traditional experience that static records alone provides.
Old Maps Online has indexed over 500,000 maps, thanks to the archives and libraries that were open to the idea and provided links to their content.
Billion Graves
For cemetery managers, sometimes the cost of modernization is prohibitive. We want to help alleviate this burden, so we've partnered with the volunteers at billion graves to promote data sharing. When billion graves volunteers offer to transcribe records and collect gps points, that means we don't have to. This, in turn, amounts to cost savings for our cemetery friends. We collaborate with Billion Graves for data sharing.
